Congratulations to Bernard Anthony Malijan and Natasha Giddy, who have each received an education grant worth $1,500 from Kitchener-Wilmot Hydro Inc.

The grants were presented at an awards ceremony at Conestoga College’s Cambridge Campus on Thursday, June 6, 2019. The students are in Conestoga College’s Electrical Engineering Technology and Energy Systems Technology Programs, and were awarded the grants based on their strong academic achievement.

“We are delighted to be able to provide these grants,” says Greig Cameron, Kitchener-Wilmot Hydro’s Vice President, Engineering and Information Systems Technology. “These grants can help ease the financial pressure on students so they can focus on their studies and develop the skills needed to help build Ontario’s energy future. We are pleased to support them in this way.”

Supporting student learning

Kitchener-Wilmot Hydro has been funding these grants since 2013. They are awarded to two students in Conestoga College’s Electrical Engineering Technology and Energy Systems Technology Programs and are to be used towards the students’ final year of study. Students who are interested can apply for the grants online through Conestoga College’s financial services.

In addition to these grants, Kitchener-Wilmot Hydro offers internships and hires summer students in many departments, providing students with an opportunity to build experience in their field while completing their studies.
