Kitchener-Wilmot Hydro has been a member of our community for over 100 years. We supply safe, reliable electricity to more than 95,000 homes and businesses across Kitchener and Wilmot Township.

We invest in local education programs and offer recurring positions each year to help interested students and prospective employees gain experience in the utility industry.

The following programs are employment opportunities that are typically advertised annually in addition to any other full-time opportunities we may have.

Powerline Technician Apprenticeship

We work directly with Conestoga College's Ingersoll Campus for our Powerline Apprenticeship program. Students that take this program through Conestoga College are considered for our co-op positions both in the summer and winter semesters. Please watch for our postings at the college and on our careers page.

Co-Op Program

We have hired students from our local colleges and/or universities in various disciplines relevant to their academic programs. Our co-op program gives students the opportunity to put their studies into practice in Engineering, Distribution and Health and Safety.

Summer Students

We typically post on our website in February for summer students to help us with our vacation replacements and workloads during these months. This partnership gives students an opportunity to gain some valuable hands-on experience with a chance to return for a second year.
