The Electrical Safety Authority (ESA) is an independent, non-profit organization that works to reduce the number of electricity-related injuries in Ontario. The ESA works with electrical utilities across the province to share safety messages and resources.

Some of their activities include:

  • Identifying leading causes of electrical risk;
  • Raising awareness, educating and training in electrical safety;
  • Ensuring compliance with safety regulations;
  • Investigating fatalities, injuries and fire losses associated with electricity;
  • Engaging with stakeholders to improve safety.

The ESA has a series of resources to help customers identify potential safety hazards.
