Billing

Kitchener-Wilmot Hydro is responsible for the safe and reliable delivery of electricity to your home. You are billed for this service on the amount of electricity that your home uses, expressed in kilowatt hours.

A kilowatt hour (kWh) is the power used by an electrical device over a given period of time. It is calculated by multiplying power expressed in watts (W) times the hours (h) during which the power was used.

With the introduction of Smart Meters we no longer need to read our meter visually to determine your electricity usage. The meter automatically records your consumption hourly, communicating to us regularly.

Your Kitchener-Wilmot Hydro bill includes our charges for the delivery of electricity, as well as other charges that we pass on to other provincial organizations.

We offer a wide range of payment options for you to pay your bill. Your bill is due on the first business day following 18 days after the bill date.
